Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed confidence that his eldest son, Cristiano Jr., could one day exceed his achievements in football, revealing that the youngster is already physically more developed than he was at the same age.

The Portugal captain shared his thoughts in a Netflix Sports video while observing the 16-year-old train with the Al Nassr youth side.

According to Ronaldo, Cristiano Jr. has grown into a stronger and taller teenager than he was during his own youth career.

“He’s a good kid. The other ones are tougher, the ones at home, the small ones. This one is no problem,” he said.

“When I was his age, he is a little bit bigger and stronger. I was smaller. I think he will be bigger than me.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, however, noted that physical advantages alone do not guarantee success in professional football.

Asked whether Cristiano Jr. possesses the same competitive mindset that shaped his legendary career, Ronaldo admitted that determination is one quality that cannot easily be taught.

“Hunger is the most difficult,” he said.

Cristiano Jr., born on June 17, 2010, is currently developing his game in the Al Nassr youth system.

Ronaldo’s illustrious career includes five Ballon d’Or trophies, five UEFA Champions League titles and Portugal’s triumph at UEFA Euro 2016.

He has also won domestic league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia and remains the highest-scoring player in the history of men’s international football.

With expectations growing around Cristiano Jr.’s development, football fans will be watching closely to see whether he can build his own career and eventually match—or even surpass—his father’s historic accomplishments.
