A Nigerian pilgrim participating in the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage has reportedly died in Muzdalifah, Saudi Arabia, after arriving from Arafat.

The pilgrim, believed to be from Bauchi State, reportedly died in the early hours of Wednesday during the overnight transit of worshippers from Arafat to Muzdalifah.

Daily Trust reported that Saudi security personnel and emergency medical responders quickly moved the body from the scene following the incident.

Eyewitnesses said the deceased was wheeled away by Saudi police officers alongside emergency medical officials, while two individuals believed to be members of the Bauchi State pilgrims delegation accompanied the evacuation.

Authorities have yet to officially identify the pilgrim, and the cause of death has not been determined, according to the report.

The death occurred during one of the most physically challenging stages of the Hajj exercise, where pilgrims move between holy locations under intense weather conditions and crowded surroundings.
