The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that its latest airstrikes successfully hit and destroyed terrorist positions in the Southern Tumbuns axis of Borno State.

The operation was detailed in a statement issued Saturday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

According to him, the mission took place on Friday around 18:50 hours in Ali Sheriffti, a known terrorist stronghold, based on credible intelligence reports.

“The NAF air assets carried out a focused surveillance sweep, during which several insurgents were sighted moving along concealed tracks and were trailed to structures hidden under dense foliage,” Ejodame said.

He further stated: “Following positive identification, the NAF executed a precise strike, engaging the structures with onboard munitions.”

“The operation achieved the desired effect, with terrorist structures destroyed, further degrading their capability and freedom of movement in the area.”

Ejodame said the operation demonstrates the Air Force’s ongoing focus on intelligence-driven and precision-based strikes designed to eliminate terrorist safe havens.

He also cited the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, who reaffirmed the military’s commitment to sustained pressure on insurgent groups.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to pursue and dismantle terrorist networks with unwavering precision and relentless force, ensuring no enclave remains beyond our reach,” Aneke said.

The NAF stated that air operations will continue at increased intensity in order to safeguard lives and maintain national security.
