The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has praised the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing it as an emerging national political force that is rapidly gaining relevance across the country.

The South-South socio-political organisation said the party’s growth has strengthened Nigeria’s democratic environment and attracted increasing interest from citizens nationwide.

PANDEF National Chairman, Godknows Igali, made the remarks on Monday during a courtesy visit to Seriake Dickson, National Leader of the NDC, in Abuja.

Commending Dickson’s role in establishing the party, Igali said the former Bayelsa governor had demonstrated courage and foresight in creating a political movement that is steadily gaining national recognition.

He noted that the NDC has evolved into a platform attracting support from various parts of the country and is positioning itself as a significant player in Nigeria’s political space.

According to Igali, the visit was part of PANDEF’s broader engagement with political parties and stakeholders on issues affecting the Niger Delta and the nation as a whole.

He said the forum remains committed to dialogue and collaboration aimed at promoting peace, development, fairness, and national progress.

“PANDEF is engaging with leaders of various political parties on issues relating to the Niger Delta and the country at large,” he said.

“We had a fruitful discussion and appreciate the fact that the NDC has become a leading national movement that is attracting widespread interest across the country.”

Igali added that PANDEF has held similar consultations with other political leaders and organisations and will continue to do so in pursuit of solutions to national challenges.

“We have met with several other party leaders; some have visited us, while we have visited others. We will continue to contribute our quota toward making Nigeria a better place,” he stated.

The PANDEF chairman also congratulated the NDC leadership, including its National Chairman, members of the National Working Committee, and supporters across the country, for their commitment to deepening democratic governance.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation among political parties, regional bodies, and public institutions in improving citizens’ welfare and addressing pressing national issues.

PANDEF said the visit reflects its determination to maintain constructive engagement with political actors while advancing the interests of the Niger Delta and promoting unity, stability, and development across Nigeria.

The delegation also included Deputy National Chairman, Hon. Bassey Nyong Ekefre, and National Treasurer, Mrs. Ifeoma Onyeoma Agbomah.
