Good representation means a trusted mandate, signifying public office as a responsibility entrusted by the people. Such representatives stays close to the people, listens to their views, and turns needs into actions, opportunities, and policies improving everyday life

A representative with a visible track record of community development, advocacy, and responsible management of public resources sets a clear standard for measuring representation quality. Conversely, some individuals attain office without the preparation, vision, or commitment required for effective representation.

When public office is driven by circumstance rather than purpose, missed opportunities, weak engagement, and slow progress often follow. For Ajingi, Gaya, and Albasu, the message is clear: representation should hinge on proven dedication, not chance.

Before 2015, Ajingi, Gaya, and Albasu faced neglect and slow development. With Hon. Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya’s emergence as representative, the constituency saw determination and responsibility, gradually delivering tangible development that impacted many lives.

Roads were built, schools improved, and communities got long-awaited attention. Crucially, he stayed close to the people, listening to concerns and prioritizing needs. His representation was defined by sustained action and results, not grand speeches. Like a steady hand, his work spoke louder than words.

Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya’s proven service or choose a new candidate with untested capacity and commitment. This wasn’t just a political decision it was a moment carrying hopes, struggles, and aspirations for a better future. A legislator’s true measure is dedication to the people, not just speeches.A good representative listens, understands, and acts in the community’s interest, standing with them through progress and difficulty to craft policies addressing real needs.

In the 2023 election, many opted for change, setting aside experience for new promises. The consequences are now evident, and people in Ajingi, Gaya, and Albasu are questioning if it benefited the constituency. Electioneering brings excitement and competing narratives, but representation is judged by results. Without vision, connection, and a genuine relationship, progress slows and hope fades. Communities thrive when representatives care, policies fit real needs, and trust is built through consistent service. This highlights the significance of electoral choices.”

This raises a question: what made Hon. His promise was simple, he pledged to never turn his back on them, stay silent in their time of need, or use the office for personal gain.

For him, representation was about duty: restoring dignity, ensuring the government serves citizens, and building a future where every child matters, youth have opportunities, women are protected, and hardworking people live with dignity. Though no longer representative, his connection to the people remains. He visits communities, meets residents, listens to concerns, and shares their struggles. He hears their complaints, understands their aspirations, and hears the silent hopes of the unheard.

Despite current challenges, he remains confident in the resilience of Ajingi, Gaya, and Albasu’s people. He’s seen parents wake before dawn, working tirelessly to feed their families.”He’s seen educated youth searching for scarce opportunities.
