One of the most significant achievements under CP Sanusi’s leadership is the near eradication of kidnapping for ransom within the FCT.

Once a growing concern that instilled fear in residents, this menace has now been reduced to almost zero since his assumption of office. This feat alone underscores a deliberate and effective approach to intelligence-led policing and rapid response operations.

Equally commendable is the dismantling of the notorious “one-chance” criminal networks. It is now increasingly rare to encounter unmarked commercial vehicles used by criminals to lure unsuspecting passengers before robbing, assaulting, or abandoning them.

This development has brought immense relief to commuters who previously lived in constant apprehension.

Furthermore, incidents of armed robbery and traffic-related attacks, especially in congestion-prone areas and under bridges, have drastically declined.

These locations, once considered high-risk zones, are now safer due to heightened police visibility and strategic patrol deployments.

Gone are the days when satellite towns within the FCT were perceived as havens for criminal elements. Today, the entire territory enjoys a more secure environment, forcing many criminals to relocate outside the FCT.

This shift is a testament to the consistency and effectiveness of the security architecture put in place.

It is also noteworthy that violent crime and criminality in slum areas, particularly within the metropolitan districts, have become a thing of the past.

Through targeted interventions and sustained operations, these once volatile areas have experienced a significant turnaround.

Since assuming office, CP Sanusi has demonstrated a clear commitment to tackling insecurity head-on. His administration has intensified surveillance in identified black spots, discouraged the operation of unpainted taxis, and strengthened policing across known hotspots.

These measures have not only curtailed criminal activities but also served as a deterrent to would-be offenders.
