Buhari’s Death And Tinubu’s Warning To Nigerian Governors -By Yasir Shehu Adam

To all leaders across Nigeria—your big mansions, luxury cars, and hidden wealth will not follow you to the hereafter. Only your good deeds, your justice, your honesty, and your commitment to your people will save you. Bad deeds, corruption, and injustice will lead to destruction in this world and the hereafter.
May Almighty Allah protect us and guide our leaders to do what is right.

Buhari and Tinubu

The death of former President Muhammadu Buhari has shaken me deeply. Since the sad news broke, I have hardly been able to sleep for days. His passing is not just the loss of a former leader but the end of a man whose life taught Nigerians a powerful lesson about simplicity, service, and humility.

President Buhari finished his service to the nation and returned to his hometown to live a simple life. He was not known for chasing luxury houses or expensive cars. Instead, he showed us that leadership is about sacrifice and commitment to your people. May Almighty Allah reward him abundantly for the dedication and calmness he brought to the process of building Nigeria.

But as we mourn, we must also reflect. Our current leaders seem to have forgotten what true leadership means. Many of them focus only on their personal wealth and comfort while neglecting education, health, and other basic needs of their people. There is no serious plan for job creation, no real welfare for the masses, and no clear agenda for human development. Allah will surely question leaders on the Day of Judgment about how they managed the lives, education, and health of their people.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu himself has sounded a strong warning. Speaking with emotion, he said:

“Buhari’s death weakened my entire body. I have not been able to sleep for the past two days. I, Jagaban, am calling on all political office holders, especially sitting governors, to be very careful. I have been sending you trillions, yet nothing meaningful is seen—especially in infrastructural and human development projects. Instead, you squander the resources. Be careful. Nothing lasts forever. One day, we will all give account before Almighty God.”

These are heavy words from the President, and they must not be ignored.

I am also using this opportunity to call the attention of the Bauchi State Government, especially Governor Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir. Your promises to the people of Bauchi must not be forgotten. Today, our educational system and health sector are in a very poor condition. There is little or no welfare for the people. Many government commitments are misplaced, focusing on projects that do not directly benefit the masses.

Governor Bala Muhammad, please remember: no society can develop without a solid education system, standard healthcare, and other basic necessities of life. These are the foundation for true development.
