Amidst the glaring uncertainty and provocative backwardness of the Northern Nigeria, a brilliant and strong lady of indefatigable substance and bolstering value has emerged. Her noble and comprehensive template is richly pronounced: the liberation of the North.
Hajiya Naja’atu Mohammed is the unequivocal name, the jingoistic, fearless, resolute, eloquent, elaborate and energetic character, trending both conventional and social media with remarkable successes and achievements. She is both the general and the army, simultaneously the attacker and the defender, the hopeful messenger and the unbiased message itself, instigating deepest sense of profound reflections on our failures and how to overcome them. Our protruding and shabby circumstances compelled her to be the voice of the voiceless, and the bulwark for the North. Accordingly, she has since discovered an inevitable mission, restoration of regional integrity, embedded in the process of reconstructing the collapsing region.
Persistently and courageously, Naja’atu has been a sincere and robust friend of the North, a brave warrior who has been torn apart between the unprecedented horrors of the four decades when her loving and erudite husband Dr. Bala Muhammad was gruesomely murdered and the prevailing regional retardation in which our conscience of the pathetic situation of Arewa is at its lowest ebb. Thus, she is a gigantic casualty of political oppression and assassination, but largely inspired by the insatiable desire for justice and redemption of the North, especially under the current government.
I have been a keen observer of what Naja’atu stands for, how she organises her deep thoughts to score credible goals, how her unflinching loyalty to the North has been widening and deepening with unwavering commitment, acknowledging her gallant fight against the existing status quo. While speaking loudly and clearly for the North, she is resonating with the aspirations of our time and the future. Even her unrepentant antagonists cannot easily dispel her growing bravery and sack her regional indispensability.
Show me the gang of the opportunists, I will tell you the daring and resilient activist obsessed by spurring political and regional psychology. Indeed, Naja’atu is currently transforming into a regional fundamentalist, a bizarre force of necessity, a sonorous voice of factual reasons and controlled thoughts. Why is Naja’atu raising her voice continuously? Who is afraid of this dissent voice? She is involuntarily responding to the shortcomings of internal detractors, those elements that sacrifice the prosperity of Arewa for their selfish interest and the unfolding obnoxious policies of the federal government that proportionally decimates the North.
Currently, the North deserves more voices of protest and protection, compendium voices of unity for salvation. Beyond the constructive tones of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar, Naja’atu Mohammed, the late Bashir Tofa and Professor Usman Yusuf among others, we need not just additional voices to speak about our lingering predicament, but we must also transform those voices into meaningful and result-oriented actions. The echoes of such needful voices will continue to inspire us unless if we are happy regarding our troubles.
A philosophy has it that a fool always speaks because he or she has to say something, while the wise always speaks because he or she has something to say. Interestingly, Naja’atu belongs to the latter, building a formidable future through in-depth analysis of our regional conundrum. She always has something to tell us, showing us our turbulent mess for positive and regional reactions. The high quality of the content of her speeches regarding the North is tremendously exciting, evoking the spirit of hope renewal the phenomenal Naja’atu is in our midstream society.
The Naja’atu Mohammed that we know is a faithful servant of the North, irresistably sparkling with naked facts and sound logics that can shape and re-orient our collective aspirations. She is neither a propagandist nor aspiring for cheap popularity. When she spoke about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not having an agenda for the North prior to the 2023 elections, she was summarily dismissed by many people as a mischievous element. However, the unfolding events emanating from the socioeconomic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not only vindicate her, but are also a recipe for the 2027 election as it affects the North.
It is time to joyfully recognize and appreciate Hajiya Naja’atu as the Iron Lady of the North when others are aspiring to be outstanding first ladies. It is time to say a big thank you to her for unmasking our chronic diseases, painstakingly treating both the causes and the symptoms, generating our focus and attention for the correct panacea. She has spoken at lenght the trouble with our hearts, restating the dimensions of our underdevelopment, challenging the conspiracy of the Tinubu’s administration against the North, citing a well established fact of how all the ministries and agencies related to national economy and financial operations are controlled by people from the Southwest despite the political mandate he enjoyed from the North .
Let Naja’atu keep the ball rolling. Let her escalating passion for Arewa’s interest continue to blossom. She is so courageous that she can stand and reduce the threat of Nuhu Ribadu as empty. Ribadu’s tale is so sad that the man who once fought corruption is now being fought by corruption. While Naja’atu is defined by self assertion, unsuccumbing to intimidations, fixing issues appropriately within contexts, Nuhu Ribadu is now re- defined by his fatally ideological suicide. Ribadu’s lost image is irreparable and irreplaceable, while Naja’atu’s image will continue to be a living and recurring power.
On a final note, the verdict of this piece is concise and clear. Naja’atu’s interest is North’s interest, a good Samaritan of our difficult time, the architect of the rebirth of Arewa. This mixed profile must be attractive to us, reposing our immense trust on her, wishing her prosperity for supporting the North’s prosperity.
