2027 And The Imperatives Of Re-electing Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha Into The House Of Reps. -By Brown Justice

Therefore, the time has come for the good people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency of Abia State to give their unalloyed supports to Hon. Obi Aguocha to continue his quality representation at the House of Representatives in the upcoming general elections.

Leadership and governance are too important to be left in the hands of unserious minded and corrupt people. This means elections have consequences.

That is why in a work entitled, ‘The Republic ‘ Plato asserted that: “Until philosophers are kings or the kings and princes of this world have the spirit and power of philosophy, cities will never have rest from evils.’

Plato argued that ‘if philosophers are to rule in the state; then we shall be able to defend ourselves .. Then will it be discovered that there are those who ought to study philosophy to be leaders and others who are not born to be philosophers who are meant to be followers rather than leaders.’

Undoubtedly, the above assertion by Plato can best capture the precarious political situation we find ourselves in Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency of Abia State; a region endowed with many talented individuals and mineral resources but hitherto lacked the political will, sagacity, direction and commitment to better the lives of our people before the current leadership emerged.

As a result, every four years, we see politicians making various promises in their vision statements and party manifestoes but in the end, they end up disappointing the people because they lack the trust, the political will and commitment to translate their visions into realities for the common good of the people.

Often times, we blame political parties for these shortcomings without realizing that political parties are just means to the end and not the end themselves because vehicles can only move in the direction dictated by the driver.

Therefore, now is the time for us to stay put or remain where we are and never allow high sounding names or political parties with zero performance to confuse us again because this is time for continuity and Obi Aguocha of the Labour Party is the best man for the job.

These days, you see them bragging about Federal Might and I often asked them which politician will rely on Federal Might if he has a good name?

It is only politicians without corrupt records that depend on Federal Might to rig the election.

But sadly enough, these folks have failed to realize that the balance of power has shifted because realities have shown that the people are wiser now and will ever reward leaders who changed their lives for better and who will still provide them with good governance and improve their living standards with good legislations in the House.

It doesn’t matter the political party such individuals belong to or identify themselves with but what matters is their vision, integrity and proven commitment to solving the national puzzle and putting Abia State on the spotlight for good reasons.

Out of the pool of many Abians, one man who has demonstrated uncommon capacity in governance and have translated his vision into action is Honorable Obi Aguocha often known as the “giant-killer” in Abia politics due to his performance in the 2023 general elections where he defeated the defacto Governor and then incumbent Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Mr. Chinedum Orji, the son of former Governor Theodore Orji.

Obi is the Chairman of House Committee on Monitoring and Evaluation of Standing and other Ad-hoc Committees.

He has sponsored more than ten bills among which are; Local Industry Patronage Bill aimed at boosting domestic production in order to move the country from consumption to production

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Amendment Bill etc.

Obi is not just passionate about good governance and seeing Nigeria becoming a great country, but has also walked the talk over the years with many philanthropic outreach.

Therefore, the time has come for the good people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency of Abia State to give their unalloyed supports to Hon. Obi Aguocha to continue his quality representation at the House of Representatives in the upcoming general elections.

They should chose competence over mediocrity because one good turn deserves another.
