The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reminded Nigerians that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise comes to an end today, urging all eligible citizens to register or update their voter records before the deadline.

In a message posted on X, the commission noted that the exercise covers fresh voter registration, transfer of registration, correction of personal information, and replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

“Time is running out, but there’s still an opportunity to make your voice count,” INEC stated.

“Register to vote or update your voter information before the close of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) today, Sunday, 26 July 2026.”

The commission advised prospective voters to use its online CVR portal or visit any INEC state or local government office to complete the process before registration closes. It also emphasised that participation in the exercise is a requirement for those planning to vote in the 2027 general election.

Earlier this month, INEC extended the nationwide CVR exercise by two weeks to accommodate more eligible Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.

The first phase of the registration exercise commenced in August 2025 with online pre-registration before physical registration began later that month. By the end of December, the commission had processed 2,572,054 completed registrations, made up of 1,503,832 online registrations and 1,068,222 physical registrations.

The second phase, held between January 5 and April 17, added 3,748,704 completed registrations nationwide, while the third and final phase began in May and ends today.
