PDP Mobilises Heavyweights for Oluyede’s Final Rally Ahead of Ekiti Governorship Election
The PDP has lined up top party figures for its final campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti as governorship candidate Wole Oluyede intensifies efforts ahead of the June 20 poll.
As preparations intensify for the June 20 governorship election in Ekiti State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to host an array of national leaders and stakeholders at the grand finale of its campaign for candidate Dr. Wole Oluyede.
The campaign organisation disclosed that the event, scheduled for June 13 in Ado-Ekiti, will attract prominent figures including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senator Abdul Ningi.
According to a statement signed by campaign spokesman Idowu Adelusi, the PDP National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, will lead members of the party’s National Working Committee to the rally.
Also expected are former governors Babangida Aliyu, Sule Lamido and Ahmed Makarfi, as well as former Information Minister Professor Jerry Gana and members of the PDP Board of Trustees led by Senator Adolphus Wabara.
Other party leaders slated to attend include Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo, Senator Jubril Wali, Ogun PDP governorship candidate Ladi Adebutu, Chief Olabode George and former Ondo PDP Chairman Clement Faboyede.
The rally is expected to serve as the final major mobilisation effort before voters head to the polls.
During his statewide campaign tour, Oluyede unveiled a development agenda focused on infrastructure, security, economic growth and governance reforms.
He promised to establish an Independent Power Plant to provide stable electricity, build police stations in strategic locations to tackle insecurity and construct circular roads to improve transportation across the state.
The PDP flagbearer also pledged to support small businesses through cooperative financing schemes, reduce multiple taxation, improve healthcare services and prioritise the payment of pension and gratuity arrears.
In addition, Oluyede promised to empower traditional rulers with greater roles in governance and grant full autonomy to local government councils to drive development at the grassroots level.
