Peller Faces Backlash as Old Carter Efe TikTok Report Video Resurfaces After Ban
Peller comes under scrutiny after an old video asking fans to report Carter Efe resurfaces days after TikTok permanently banned the creator’s 5.6m account.
An old video showing Nigerian content creator Peller asking fans to report Carter Efe’s TikTok account has resurfaced online following the permanent removal of Carter Efe’s main account by TikTok.
The clip started gaining renewed attention on September 9, with some social media users suggesting that Peller’s previous call for reports may have been connected to the ban.
Carter Efe’s official TikTok account, which had more than 5.6 million followers and 158 million likes, was removed after TikTok accused the account of repeatedly violating its Community Guidelines.
Screenshots of the platform’s enforcement notice were circulated online following the ban.
In the resurfaced footage, Peller appears on his knees as he appeals to his followers to report Carter Efe’s page. He accused the streamer and comedian of sabotaging other creators and outlined a strategy for getting the account taken down.
Despite the timing of the resurfaced video, there is currently no confirmed evidence that Peller’s appeal caused TikTok to ban Carter Efe’s account.
The enforcement notice issued by TikTok specifically attributed the action to repeated violations of the platform’s policies.
Second major TikTok ban
The latest development is the second time Carter Efe has lost a major TikTok account.
His previous account, which had around 3.5 million followers, was removed in June 2025 following controversy surrounding comments he made about Afrobeats superstar Wizkid during a livestream.
After the earlier ban, Carter Efe rebuilt his TikTok audience and eventually surpassed 5.6 million followers before losing the new account.
The controversy has once again highlighted tensions and competition within Nigeria’s creator community.
It has also raised questions about the vulnerability of creators who rely heavily on platforms such as TikTok, where accounts can be restricted or removed when users are found to have breached community guidelines.
