Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, has refuted claims made by former Department of State Services (DSS) operative Mr. Amachree regarding the events surrounding Abacha’s death.

Speaking to journalists in Kaduna, Al-Mustapha described the account published in the former DSS officer’s book as false and alleged that the author was persuaded by others to include the claims.

“The boy was asked to write the lies by others. I have all the CCTV footages of what happened in my custody, so what he said are not true,” Al-Mustapha stated.

According to Al-Mustapha, the version of events contained in the publication does not represent what actually occurred, adding that he has evidence to challenge the allegations.

He appealed to the public not to give credence to the claims, stressing that it was inappropriate to make what he called false allegations against a deceased person.

“Just ignore his lies. It’s bad to say such things on someone that is dead,” he said.
