Oyo State APC promise to restructure Oyo State Amotekun Corps -By Segun Adebowale

We all know that no security organization can maintain discipline and orderliness without ranks and grading systems within the State Security outfit Amotekun Corps. I would like the Oyo State Amotekun Corps to hold on in faith and hope that this administration will soon be over. Your ultimate service is always observed, and indeed you are brave and committed.

The Oyo State APC promises that their first agenda is to restructure Oyo State Amotekun Corps, as we all know that security and protection of lives and property is the primary responsibility of government.

For the past 4 years, Oyo State Amotekun Corps has been doing well, but this present administration did little for them in terms of job security. Recently, the APC received some numbers of operatives with different grievances, noting that the PDP administration under Governor Seyi Makinde did not give them appointment letters and confirmation letters, unlike other states such as Osun and Ekiti.

We promise you that an APC administration will reward you because the PDP administration has failed you. The APC administration will restore your hope and glory; we promise you and keep it in mind – there is no 3.0; the game is over for them.

First things we will do once we take over from this administration in 2027:

1. Oyo APC administration will issue appointment letters/confirmation letters to the recruited Amotekun operatives in Oyo State.
2. Oyo APC administration will establish ranking structures/grading systems for Oyo State Amotekun operatives and ensure Oyo State Amotekun Corps is regulated by Oyo State Civil Service Commission.
3. Oyo APC administration will ensure all Amotekun Corps enjoy gratuities and pensions after retirement.
4. Oyo State APC administration will provide standard operating procedures and codes of conduct to guide Oyo State Amotekun operatives.
5. Oyo State APC administration will ensure departments in Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps are created and functioning as required by law.
6. Recruiting the right candidates based on qualifications, criteria, and academic certificates, and placing them on their rightful levels and ranks.
7. Oyo State APC administration will put an end to forced traditional oath-taking for all Amotekun operatives.
8. Oyo State APC administration will inaugurate the Oyo State Amotekun Complaint Committee to checkmate abuse of office by the state Commandant and others.
9. Oyo State APC administration will ensure continuous training and retraining exercises for Oyo State Amotekun operatives and officers based on departments and ranks.
10. Oyo State APC administration will investigate Col. (Rtd) Olayanju Olayinka by EFCC and ICPC for abuse of office and forced traditional oath-taking.
11. Oyo State APC administration will upgrade underpaid officers, especially those with OND, NCE, HND, BSc, and MSc.
