Governor Ademola Adeleke on Monday continued his campaign for a second term by visiting Ikire, the hometown of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, where he appealed to residents to support his re-election in the August 15 Osun governorship election.

Addressing supporters at a rally in Irewole Local Government Area, Adeleke reminded residents of his personal ties to Ikire, noting that he attended Nawairudeen Grammar School in the town.

He thanked the community for backing him in the 2022 election and appealed for another mandate, saying his administration has delivered on its promises.

“I also have a connection with Ikire because I attended school here. In 2022, I came to seek your support, and you voted for me. I have worked with the mandate you gave me, and I am here again to ask for your support in the forthcoming election.”

The governor encouraged voters to come out peacefully on election day and ignore any attempt to intimidate them.

Before the campaign event, Adeleke commissioned a road project in the community, maintaining that his administration distributes development projects across the state without political bias.

“My administration is blind to political affiliations in the distribution of infrastructure projects because good governance should benefit all Osun people.”

The governor was accompanied by top members of his campaign team, including Prof. Wale Oladipo, Hon. Sunday Bisi, Pastor Victor Akande, Hon. Bamidele Sallam, and other party leaders.

He also paid a courtesy visit to the Akire of Ikire, receiving royal prayers and blessings ahead of the election.
