Nigeria Unveils New Nike Jerseys as Super Eagles Miss Out on World Cup

The Super Eagles reveal their latest home and away kits by Nike, featuring sustainable materials and modern style, after losing to DR Congo in the World Cup playoff.

The Super Eagles have officially launched their new kits via their X page ahead of upcoming international matches, with Nike describing the designs as a blend of innovation and contemporary style.

“The concept behind the new kit emphasizes versatility, combining athletic functionality with a streetwear-inspired aesthetic,” Nike stated, noting that the jerseys maintain its tradition of bold, standout designs both on and off the field.

The home jersey comes in a bright light green colour, featuring darker green side panels and a subtle fading dot gradient, along with the Nigeria Football Federation crest and Nike branding.

The away kit presents a white base, detailed with green flame-like patterns from the hem, complemented by a dark green V-neck collar and black-trimmed sleeves.

According to Nike, both kits are made with sustainable materials and incorporate Dri-FIT technology to improve comfort and airflow. The retail prices are set at £109.99 for adults and £84.99 for children.

The release follows a disappointing period for Nigeria after failing to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite a squad including Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman. Their campaign ended in a penalty loss to DR Congo in the CAF playoff round.

The Nigeria Football Federation had approached FIFA to challenge DR Congo’s eligibility, citing alleged irregularities in passport issuance for some players. However, FIFA has upheld DR Congo’s participation, confirming the team will compete in the playoffs scheduled for next week in Mexico.
