Alvaro Arbeloa says he has “maximum confidence” in Kylian Mbappé as Real Madrid prepare to face Atlético Madrid in a crucial La Liga derby.

Mbappé has recovered from a knee sprain and made his return as a substitute against Manchester City, with Arbeloa confirming the forward is now fully fit.

“I already told you that the day (Mbappe) came back would be when he was at 100 percent,” he said.

“We have maximum confidence… to have a player like him back… so decisive and at 100 percent.”

The French star, who has scored 38 goals in 34 games this season, is set to feature alongside Jude Bellingham, who is also back after injury.

“He’s now available, he’ll be in the squad tomorrow. We’ll see if he plays. I think he will,” Arbeloa said.

He added that Bellingham’s intelligence makes him capable of managing his return, while expressing satisfaction over his availability.

Arbeloa also supported Mbappé’s inclusion in France’s squad for upcoming international fixtures.

Madrid will be missing Thibaut Courtois due to injury, but Arbeloa showed strong belief in replacement Andriy Lunin.

“The best goalkeeper in history gets injured, and we have another outstanding goalkeeper,” he said, adding he has “utmost confidence” in Lunin.
