Osimhen: ‘Even Without Football, I’d Have Made Money’

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen speaks on his self-belief, early struggles, injury recovery and why Galatasaray feels special to him.

Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has revealed that his strong work ethic would have made him successful financially, even outside football.

The striker made the remarks during a livestream with Carter Efe, recalling his early years of struggle.

“I get that belief in myself, even when I was in the trenches when it was tough. The way we had to hustle,” he said.

Osimhen, who currently plays for Galatasaray, is back in Nigeria recovering from a broken arm suffered in a UEFA Champions League game against Liverpool.

Highlighting his mindset, he added:
“There’s no legit work that you’ll call me for that you won’t meet me there around five in the morning or four or three. Wake me up, I go hustle.”

“Even if not through football, I will have money like mad. That’s the way I believe.”

The 27-year-old also spoke about the impact of his time at Galatasaray, describing the club as special to him.

“Gala is more than a club for me. We’re meant to cross paths.”

He contrasted the club’s support with other experiences in his career.

“When you enter that club, you realise… the way that it treats players… From other experiences, you see they deprive players of real love.”

According to him, the connection extends to his family and fans worldwide.

“Even my daughter, they’re more inclined to that club than me.”

Osimhen concluded by noting how rare such an atmosphere is in football.

“Some players will go like 10 years… 20 years, they will not get that kind of love.”
