Jide Kosoko Explains Why Ogogo Remains in Hospital Despite Hundreds of Offers to Help
Nollywood veteran Jide Kosoko has appealed for continued prayers for Ogogo while explaining why the actor cannot be moved to different locations.
LAGOS — Nollywood veteran Jide Kosoko has appealed for continued prayers for actor Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, explaining that the actor cannot be moved from his current hospital despite receiving hundreds of offers of assistance.
Kosoko disclosed this in a post on Instagram, where he acknowledged the concern shown by fans, colleagues and well-wishers and thanked those who have offered prayers, medical assistance and spiritual interventions for Ogogo.
He revealed that more than 300 people, and possibly over 500, had contacted the family with offers to help the ailing actor.
However, Kosoko said the large number of offers had created a difficult logistical situation because Ogogo is still receiving treatment in hospital.
“We have received hundreds of such offers, and we sincerely appreciate every single one of them,” Kosoko said.
“However, we humbly appeal to everyone not to stop praying for Ogogo. Please, continue to pray with us.”
Explaining why the actor cannot be moved around to access the various forms of assistance being offered, Kosoko said his condition and ongoing treatment made such movements difficult.
“It is extremely difficult to move him from the hospital to different locations at this stage of his treatment, especially considering the large number of people who have offered to help,” he said.
He further explained the dilemma facing the family.
“We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him. The challenge is simply: Where do we take him to? And how do we move him from the hospital while he is receiving care?” he added.
The actor appealed to people who have offered spiritual or other forms of assistance to understand why the family may not be able to bring Ogogo to them.
Kosoko said the decision was not an indication that the family failed to appreciate the offers or questioned the sincerity of those trying to help.
“Please understand that our inability to bring Ogogo to anyone does not mean that we do not appreciate you, nor does it mean that we doubt your intentions or your desire to help,” he said.
He thanked supporters in Nigeria and abroad for standing by Ogogo and encouraged them to continue praying for his recovery wherever they are.
Expressing optimism about the actor’s condition, Kosoko said the family continues to believe that Ogogo will recover.
“We believe strongly that, with your prayers, our prayers, and the mercy of Almighty God, Taye will come out of this situation successfully. There is nothing impossible before Almighty God,” he said.
