PDP Headquarters Unsealed as Police Enforce Court Order, Wike Allies Reclaim Control
Nigeria Police unsealed the PDP headquarters in Abuja, restoring control to Wike-aligned leaders after days of internal crisis.
The Nigeria Police Force has reopened the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja, handing the facility back to party leadership in compliance with court rulings.
The National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza and Legacy House in Maitama were returned to the control of National Chairman Hon. Abdulrahman Takushara and National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
The move effectively ends a high-profile internal dispute and signals the return of authority to figures aligned with Nyesom Wike.
Confirming the development, PDP spokesperson Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed praised the police for upholding the law.
“The Party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, as well as Legacy House, Maitama, have been unsealed by the Nigeria Police Force and handed over to the National Chairman, and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, in full compliance with duly issued court orders.
“The party commends the Nigeria Police Force for its professionalism and adherence to the rule of law. This action is a clear demonstration of respect for constitutional order and due process.”
The party, however, issued a caution against any further unrest at the secretariat.
“The Party strongly warns that it will not condone any act capable of causing obstruction, disruption, or breach of peace at the secretariat again,” he said, adding that security agencies were on standby to act.
Describing the development as reassuring, the PDP called for reconciliation among members.
“This positive development reassures members that the recent challenges confronting the Party have been effectively resolved. We therefore call on all aggrieved members to sheath their swords and embrace unity in the collective interest of the Party.”
Jungudo also highlighted the role played by party stakeholders, singling out Nyesom Wike for special mention.
“In particular, we acknowledge the guidance and commitment of our National Leader, Chief Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, whose support has been invaluable.”
