Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Iran, the United States, and their allies have agreed to an immediate ceasefire covering multiple regions, including Lebanon.

The announcement was made via X on Wednesday, with Sharif describing the agreement as a crucial step toward peace and regional stability.

“With the greatest humility, I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere including Lebanon and elsewhere, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.”

Sharif commended the leadership of both sides, praising their decision to pursue peace.

“I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries,” he stated.

He further revealed plans to host follow-up negotiations in Islamabad, inviting all parties to participate in talks aimed at achieving a durable resolution.

The prime minister said delegations are expected to convene in the Pakistani capital on Friday, April 10, 2026, for discussions he termed the “Islamabad Talks.”
