PSG Tie Luis Enrique Down to 2030 After Champions League Success
PSG coach Luis Enrique has signed a new contract until 2030, extending his stay after winning two Champions League titles with the club.
Paris Saint-Germain have secured the long-term future of head coach Luis Enrique after the Spaniard agreed to extend his contract with the French champions until 2030.
The 56-year-old’s previous agreement was due to run out at the end of the season, but PSG confirmed on Friday that he had signed a new three-year extension.
The announcement came before PSG’s Ligue 1 meeting with Monaco at the Parc des Princes, where five players — Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo and Senny Mayulu — also committed their futures to the club with new deals.
PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi said the contract renewals were part of the club’s strategy to maintain continuity and build for the future.
“They represent the present and the future of our club’s project,” he said.
“Together, we’re aiming to build for the long term, to remain true to our values, and to continue writing a story that our supporters can be proud of.”
Luis Enrique was joined by the five Champions League winners on the pitch and received a loud reception from PSG supporters following the announcement.
The celebration, however, was followed by disappointment as PSG fell to a 2-1 defeat against Monaco. The result means the European champions are still searching for their first Ligue 1 victory after three games of the new campaign.
Luis Enrique, speaking after the defeat, said he remained highly motivated despite the difficult start to the season.
“It is not the best moment to talk about this but what I can say is that it is the first time in my career -– and I am an old coach -– in which I have stayed more than three years in the same club,” he said.
“I am more motivated now than I was in my first year here, which is bizarre for me. I am very happy and I hope to be up to the job.”
Luis Enrique arrived at PSG ahead of the 2023/24 season after previously managing Barcelona and Spain. His primary objective was to deliver the club’s first European Cup.
He accomplished that goal in spectacular fashion in 2025, leading PSG to a 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
The Parisians retained the title in May after overcoming Arsenal on penalties, further strengthening Luis Enrique’s position at the club.
Under his leadership, PSG have also collected three Ligue 1 titles and two French Cups since he replaced Christophe Galtier.
The new contracts also provide long-term security for several key members of the squad.
Fabian Ruiz, the Spanish World Cup winner, has extended his contract until the end of next season, with an option for a further year.
Meanwhile, Joao Neves, Lucas Beraldo, Willian Pacho and Senny Mayulu have all signed contracts keeping them at PSG until 2031.
