Tinubu Deploys 65 Ambassadors as Reno Omokri, Fani-Kayode Get Key Foreign Postings
President Bola Tinubu approves the deployment of 65 ambassadors after Senate confirmation, assigning Reno Omokri to Mexico, Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany, and others to key diplomatic posts.
President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors to different countries, several months after the Senate confirmed their nominations in December.
Among the notable assignments, former presidential spokesperson Reno Omokri has been posted to Mexico, while former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode will serve as Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany.
Also on the list is former Rivers State military administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok Ette-Ibas, who has been deployed to the Philippines. Former Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu will serve as a non-career ambassador to Spain, while former Enugu State governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has been assigned to Greece.
Meanwhile, former Minister of Interior Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau has been posted to China. Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu will represent Nigeria in Israel, Paul Adikwu has been assigned to Vatican City, and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim will serve as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
President Tinubu had earlier transmitted the nominees to the Senate in 2025, and their confirmations were secured before the end of that legislative year.
