Tinubu Expresses Solidarity with Saudi Arabia Over Houthi Militia Attacks
Nigeria has expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia after Houthi militia attacks claimed lives and damaged critical infrastructure, according to an official statement.
President Bola Tinubu has condemned recent attacks by Houthi militia from Yemen against Saudi Arabia, conveying Nigeria’s condolences to the country over the loss of lives and damage to critical infrastructure.
The president’s message was delivered by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, to Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Balawi, during a meeting at the minister’s office this week.
In the letter, Tinubu expressed heartfelt sympathy to Saudi Arabia’s Prime Minister and Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, alongside the government and people of the kingdom.
He strongly denounced the attacks, which have reportedly resulted in multiple deaths and destruction of physical infrastructure and vital installations.
Speaking during the presentation of the letter, Enikanolaiye emphasised the importance of peaceful solutions, urging people across the region to shun violence.
Ambassador Al-Balawi welcomed Nigeria’s show of support, expressing profound gratitude to Tinubu for his words of solidarity and consolation.
The envoy also praised the president’s firm stance against terrorism and rebel activities targeting legitimate governments, describing the position as a principled rejection of such violence.
Al-Balawi reiterated his commitment to strengthening regional and international peace and security.
The development was announced on Saturday in a statement by Richard Elesho, the Special Adviser on Media and Strategic Communications to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
