US President Donald Trump has announced a five-day suspension of planned strikes on Iran’s energy facilities, citing progress in ongoing talks with Tehran aimed at resolving tensions.

In a statement shared early Monday on his Truth Social platform, Trump said discussions over the past two days have been positive and are moving toward a possible resolution of hostilities in the Middle East.

“The United States and Iran have had, over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East,” Trump wrote in all capitals.

He noted that negotiations will continue during the week and that the decision to pause military action depends on their outcome.

“Based on the tenor and tone” of the talks, “witch (sic) will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings,” he added.
