The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board says UTME results delayed due to the CEO’s absence will be released today.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has assured candidates that results of the April 17, 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be released later today after a delay that drew widespread concern.

JAMB had initially announced that the second batch of results would be released on Saturday but missed the deadline, leaving many candidates waiting.

Explaining the situation in a statement on Sunday, spokesperson Fabian Benjamin said the delay was due to the unavailability of the board’s chief executive.

“We sincerely apologise for the delay in releasing the results for Friday, 17th April… Our Chief Executive was unavailable due to an important engagement but would be in the office today,” he said.

He assured candidates: “We assure you that the results will be released later today, surely before nightfall.”

“We also extend our heartfelt apologies to those who stayed up waiting for the release,” he added.

JAMB had earlier released results for candidates who wrote the UTME on April 16, with a total of 632,788 results made available.
