A 20-year-old man, Damian Oforbuike, has been banished by residents of Ohatekwe Ukawu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State after allegedly killing his mother, Onyemaechi.

The tragic incident reportedly happened over the weekend when the suspect attacked his mother with a machete before escaping into a forest.

Community youths later organised a search, tracked him down, and arrested him. He was paraded through the area before being expelled and warned never to return.

In a video circulating online, the suspect reportedly admitted to the act, stating: “I killed my mother because she refused to bathe me and also refused to rent a shop for my brother who learned barbing and needed money to start.”

Councillor Maduabuchi Nweke confirmed the development, noting that more than 200 youths were mobilised to locate and arrest the suspect.
