Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola has revealed that he and Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat shared a bunk bed at boarding school 49 years ago.

Otedola made the disclosure on Monday through a post on X after hosting a dinner in honour of Hamzat, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.

Reflecting on their years as schoolmates, Otedola described Hamzat as a man of strong character and integrity.

“Yesterday, I hosted dinner in honour of @DrObafemiHamzat, the incoming Governor of Lagos State. A man of the highest integrity, with whom I shared a bunk bed at boarding school 49 years ago,” Otedola stated.

He further commended the deputy governor’s personal qualities, saying his assessment of Hamzat had remained consistent over the years.

The dinner was attended by other leading figures in Nigeria’s business community, including Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu.

Otedola’s remarks offered a glimpse into his decades-long association with Hamzat, whose political ambitions are focused on the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
