DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed the arrests in a statement released on Thursday. He said the killing took place at approximately 6 p.m. on October 3, 2026, at a barbing salon in the Oja-Ale area of Ikire.

The statement explained that a friend of Ajayi told the police that they were both getting haircuts when a group of hoodlums allegedly attacked them with dangerous weapons.

While Ajayi was allegedly killed in the attack, his friends managed to escape and subsequently reported the incident to the police.

The police also accused Ademakinwa of sending threatening voice messages to residents of Wasimi, allegedly warning them to leave the community or face the consequences.

In addition, the command alleged that he was involved in the deaths of two passers-by during an attack on police officers from the Ikire Division on August 24, 2026.

The police said investigations into the murder and related allegations were continuing. The suspects are expected to be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction after the investigation is completed.
