The naira opened the new trading week on Monday, October 19, 2026, trading at about ₦1,333.54 to the dollar in the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), based on available exchange-rate figures.

However, the parallel foreign exchange market continues to trade above the official rate. Recent market reports indicate that Bureau De Change operators are quoting different dollar prices depending on their location and individual trading conditions.

Current Dollar to Naira Rates

Available exchange-rate figures for Monday show the following:

  • Official market rate: ₦1,333.54 per dollar.
  • Black market buying rate: Around ₦1,375 per dollar.
  • Black market selling rate: Around ₦1,390 per dollar.

These parallel market figures are estimates rather than uniform rates, as actual prices can vary among dealers and across locations. Transaction size may also influence the rate offered.

How the Naira Performed

The naira ended the previous week on a relatively stable note in the official market, closing at approximately ₦1,332.26 per dollar on Friday, October 16, 2026.

On the parallel market, the dollar was reported to have sold for about ₦1,370, according to market reports.
