The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has rejected a viral social media claim that Hon. Ali Isah, a member of the House of Representatives representing Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency of Gombe State, secured 50 recruitment slots for his constituents.

The Corps described the publication as misleading, insisting that no appointment letter has been issued to any candidate in the ongoing 2026 recruitment exercise.

The clarification was contained in a statement dated September 16, 2026, signed by the FRSC Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, and obtained by our correspondent in Gombe on Friday.

The statement followed the circulation of a social media publication purportedly linking the lawmaker to the allocation of 50 FRSC recruitment slots to constituents.

The FRSC explained that although some candidates who passed various stages of the screening and interview process have been invited to designated training schools and the FRSC Academy, those invitations do not amount to appointments.

According to the Corps, candidates are still required to complete prescribed training, screening, regimentation and other mandatory processes before they can be considered for appointment.

The FRSC stated: “Only candidates who satisfactorily complete all the required stages and emerge without any disqualifying record will be considered for appointment in accordance with established procedures.”

The Corps further made clear that political office holders and other external interests cannot independently secure appointments into the organisation.

“No political office holder, individual, group or external interest has the authority to confer appointments into the Corps outside its established recruitment framework,” the statement said.

The FRSC said the recruitment exercise being conducted under the leadership of Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, mni, is guided by merit, transparency, due process and institutional integrity.

It consequently advised applicants and members of the public to disregard claims that recruitment slots had been reserved or allocated to particular individuals, constituencies or political interests.

The Corps also warned that such claims could be exploited by fraudsters seeking to deceive unsuspecting applicants into believing that FRSC appointments can be obtained through political connections, payment or influence.

Applicants were advised to obtain information only through the FRSC’s authorised communication channels.

The Corps stressed that the 2026 recruitment process remains subject to all statutory and administrative requirements and that candidates should not regard themselves as appointed until the process is completed and a formal appointment is issued by the appropriate authority.

The FRSC therefore reiterated that no appointments have been issued under the 2026 recruitment exercise, and every candidate must successfully complete all prescribed stages before any formal appointment can be made.
