Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani

Iran said Thursday it had carried out coordinated attacks on the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Israel, describing the move as retaliation for US-Israeli strikes on its steel industry.

“In response to attacks on Iranian steel industries, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a new wave of attacks this morning,” the country’s military central command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, said in a statement aired on state TV.

The command said the operation targeted “American steel industries in Abu Dhabi, American aluminium industries in Bahrain, and the Rafael arms factories of the Zionist regime.”

Iranian reports further indicated that digital infrastructure was also hit.

Tasnim news agency, citing the Revolutionary Guards’ navy, said data centres belonging to Oracle in Dubai and Amazon in Bahrain were among those targeted.
