World Cup 2026: Complete List of 48 Qualified Teams Revealed

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted jointly by the United States, Canada and Mexico, is set to be the biggest in history, with a total of 48 teams confirmed for participation.

With the March international fixtures completed, all qualification pathways have been finalized, including the final six slots decided through playoff matches—four from UEFA and two from intercontinental playoffs.

Among the notable outcomes in Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina eliminated Italy in a major upset, while Turkey, Sweden and the Czech Republic also booked their tickets to the tournament.

In the intercontinental playoffs, the Democratic Republic of the Congo secured a 1–0 win over Jamaica, while Iraq defeated Bolivia 2–1 to claim the remaining qualification places.

The distribution of the 48 teams is as follows: UEFA — 16; CAF — 9; AFC — 8; CONCACAF — 6 (including host nations); CONMEBOL — 6; and OFC — 1, with two additional slots determined via intercontinental playoffs.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with Mexico hosting the opening match against South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium on June 11.
