Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the military to extend its security buffer inside Lebanon, intensifying operations against Hezbollah.

“In Lebanon, I have just ordered the military to further expand the existing security zone,” he said.

According to Netanyahu, the expansion is designed to block potential incursions and reduce the risk of attacks near Israel’s border.

“This is intended to definitively neutralise the threat of invasion… and to keep anti-tank missile fire away from the border,” he added.

During a visit to the northern command, Netanyahu acknowledged that Hezbollah can still carry out limited rocket attacks but insisted the group has suffered major setbacks.

“Iran is no longer the same Iran, Hezbollah is no longer the same Hezbollah, and Hamas is no longer the same Hamas,” he said.

He concluded with a message of confidence: “These are no longer terrorist armies threatening our existence — they are defeated enemies… We are determined, we are fighting, and with God’s help — we are winning.”
