Israeli Military Says It Killed Militant Linked to October 7 Abduction of Couple
Israeli military says it killed the militant who drove the motorcycle used to abduct Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or from the Nova festival.
Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian militant allegedly involved in the abduction of a couple whose capture at a music festival was recorded during the October 7, 2023 attack, the Israeli military said Sunday.
The militant, identified as Saher Nidal Latfi Sakr, was accused by the Israeli military of driving the motorcycle used to abduct Noa Argamani and her boyfriend, Avinatan Or, from the Nova music festival.
Footage of the couple’s abduction circulated widely following the attack and became one of the most recognisable images from the assault.
Argamani was rescued in June 2024 during an Israeli operation in the central Gaza Strip. Or was later released by Hamas in October as part of a ceasefire deal.
The Israeli military said it had “struck in the Nuseirat area and eliminated the terrorist Saher Nidal Latfi Sakr, a terrorist operative affiliated with global jihadist organisations operating in the Gaza Strip.”
The military said Sakr was affiliated with global jihadist organisations operating in Gaza.
According to Israeli figures, Hamas and allied factions killed at least 370 people and took 44 hostages at the Nova festival during the October 7, 2023 attack.
