President Bola Tinubu assured Nigerians on Monday night that the country’s unity and peace remain unshakable despite ongoing security challenges.

The assurance came during an interfaith breaking of the fast at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, attended by religious and traditional leaders who play crucial roles in fostering stability and moral guidance in their communities.

“Yes, we are challenged; the terrorists are very desperate now because they are getting barraged and defeated, they leave trails of blood in their wake. But I assure you of one thing: Nigeria will never surrender. We are not discouraged. We are going to win and win well,” Tinubu said in a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

The President highlighted progress in the nation’s economy, saying, “I can report that the economy has turned the corner. It is getting better. Pensioners are getting their relief gradually. We have saved Nigeria from bankruptcy. It was very daunting and challenging when we took over. But today I can say with pride and joy that we have survived.”

Tinubu reaffirmed his focus on investing in key sectors such as agriculture and education, aiming to leave a lasting legacy, and encouraged citizens to remain hopeful as his administration works to ensure a safer and more prosperous nation.

The Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, thanked the President for hosting leaders from both major religions, praying for God’s guidance, protection, and peace in the country. Christian leaders, including Archbishop Daniel Okoh, also pledged support for Tinubu’s efforts to enhance security and economic growth. Leaders from all six geopolitical zones attended the ceremony.
