Charlie Kirk Deserves Justice -By J. Ezike

America is already rife with so many societal ills and is in desperate need of healing. And the devastating effects are cogently visible in it’s laws, principles and values. Charlie Kirk deserves Justice and should not be confined to obscurity. His voice should be a legacy to those who choose to improve and redefine the American dream.

The life of Charlie Kirk was taken through means ranging from hatred to terrorism. And what bothers me is that there appear to be a massive support for his assassination. It is painful to read the comments and reactions of a majority who thought that he was deserving of sudden death. It is stories like this that makes me anxious of the moral decadence that has befallen humanity – the loss of human kindness and empathy.

It is dehumanizing to applaud the murder of a man whose only offence was his voice – his opinions. A man who took his chances with America’s societal ills. He spoke his truths without fear of opposition. He stood in defense of Christianity and it’s values to save America from decay. But because his voice represented truth, death followed him.

When Charlie Kirk spoke his truths against gun violence, abortion and LGBTQ, he aroused the gaze and heads of haters. And his journey from life to sudden death seemed near-complete. In his last interview, Charlie Kirk was asked how he would love to be remembered. And his reply was: he would love to be remembered for his courage and faith. His response would be a final badge of entry into the sacred order of American heroes.

Charlie Kirk’s death is reminiscent of the exit of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X – the assassination of voices who spoke against the system and brought public awareness to America’s imperfections which has actively discouraged freedom of speech and the liberty to exercise free will.

Few months after his last interview, Charlie Kirk was sent to an early grave – a predatory response to his political views that combined all the values of Christianity with the guerilla attitude of activist like Che Guevara. Charlie Kirk did not deserve to die this way. No human whose voice is a weapon for change, deserves to be slaughtered like a sacrificial lamb. And men who peddle bullets in opposition to criticism are cowards whose conscience are mired in hatred.

America has to know that taking down men with political opinions as profit and in defense of it’s deep-seated values is immoral and devoid of any legitimate conviction. America’s system of opposition which kills voices of reason according to their perceived ideologies would destroy it’s society in the future. Critics should not be viewed as a contagion that must be expelled at all cost.
