Iran has cautioned that any renewed attacks on civilian locations would provoke a broader and more severe military response, according to a statement released Monday by its central military command.

“If attacks on civilian targets are repeated, the next stages of our offensive and retaliatory operations will be much more devastating and widespread,” a spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said via Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB on Telegram.

The statement comes in response to a warning from US President Donald Trump, who threatened Iran’s civilian infrastructure as part of efforts to force Tehran into an agreement to reopen key Gulf shipping lanes.
