The White House has said Israel has signed on to the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, bringing a potential pause to over six weeks of conflict in the Middle East.

Israel has yet to officially comment on the truce.

Its ongoing offensive in Lebanon, carried out in response to rocket fire from Iranian-backed Hezbollah, has left more than 1,500 people dead, according to Lebanese officials.

Pakistan, which mediated the talks, said all parties — including the US, Iran and their allies — had agreed to a ceasefire “everywhere,” extending to Lebanon.
