Senator Ned Nwoko has expressed confidence ahead of the 2027 Delta North senatorial election, stating that while the race will be open to all contenders, he remains “chosen” to continue representing his constituents.

He made the declaration on Friday at Asaba Airport, where he formally announced his re-election bid, alongside former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.

Describing his performance in office, Nwoko said: “I want to announce publicly that I am returning to the 11th Senate on behalf of the Anioma people, Delta North.”

“I’ve done well as a Senator, taken up Anioma cause at every level and spoken fearlessly on behalf of the people.”

He added that he has consistently engaged with local challenges and will continue addressing them if re-elected.

On constitutional restructuring efforts, he referenced the proposed Anioma State, citing remarks linked to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and said he supports the initiative.

On national politics, Nwoko stated: “The President is my President… he’s doing very well nationally. He will be re-elected and we’re working together at every level,” referring to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

On the election itself, he said: “It’s a contest. Everybody is free to contest. And so we’re ready. And we shall see.”

He urged supporters to focus on continuity in development projects such as power supply improvements, water infrastructure, road construction, and education expansion in Anioma land.

The senator later joined Omo-Agege at the funeral of former Delta State Deputy Governor, Chief Benjamin Elue.
