APC Revises 2027 Campaign Council, Names Wike, Soludo, Adeleke Coordinators
Wike, Soludo and Adeleke feature in the APC’s revised 2027 campaign council, alongside Akpabio, Tajudeen Abbas and other political leaders.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a revised and expanded presidential campaign council for the 2027 general election, assigning campaign coordination responsibilities to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, notwithstanding their membership of other political parties.
Wike belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Soludo is affiliated with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), while Adeleke won re-election as Osun governor in 2026 on the platform of the Accord Party.
According to the revised arrangement, Wike will coordinate the APC’s presidential campaign in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory. Soludo will oversee campaign coordination in Anambra, while Adeleke has been assigned the Osun State campaign.
President Bola Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the expanded council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.
The party’s initial campaign council list, released on August 22, named former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General. Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni were initially appointed deputy director-generals.
However, the revised list places Akpabio, Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the positions of Deputy Vice-Chairmen I, II and III, respectively. Buni has been designated Deputy Director-General I for the North.
The expanded council also incorporates former governors, senior politicians and other prominent figures as advisers. Those listed include former APC national chairmen Adebisi Akande and Abdullahi Adamu; former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun; former Osun State Governor Iyiola Omisore; Senators Ibrahim Dankwambo and George Akume; former Ogun State Governor Segun Osoba; and Wale Edun.
Obafemi George has also been appointed an adviser on media.
In a related development, the APC has established the Directorate of Election Planning, Coordination, Monitoring and Mobilisation to support its preparations for the 2027 general election.
Faleke will serve as Deputy Director-General of the directorate, while Stella Okotete and Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat have been named Secretary I and Secretary II, respectively. Audu Maikori is also listed as a secretary.
Additional members of the directorate are Soares Omotola, Bashir Dabo, Sheriff Mohammed Usman, Jibrin Bancir, Ayoola Peter Olajolo, Abubakar Sadiq Sada and Princess Folasade Ogunbiyi.
