Churchill Denies Divorce, Says No Legally Recognised Marriage with Rosy Meurer
Nigerian businessman Olakunle Churchill dismisses divorce claims, raising questions about legal procedures.
Olakunle Churchill has pushed back against reports of a split from actress Rosy Meurer, stating that their relationship was never formalised under the law.
In an Instagram statement on Wednesday, the businessman insisted that claims of a divorce were unfounded since there was no legal marriage in the first place.
“The reports… are completely false. There is no truth to them,” he said, adding that their relationship involved only an introduction ceremony.
“There was no legally recognized marriage… Therefore, the idea of a ‘divorce’ is baseless from the outset.”
Churchill also dismissed reports of court proceedings, saying he had not been served any legal documents and questioning the credibility of such claims.
“I am 100% sure… legal practitioners who operate under a mango tree… claim to produce divorce documents within 24 hours,” he said, casting doubt on the authenticity of the reports.
He also reflected on his previous relationship with Tonto Dikeh, saying both parties had resolved their differences amicably.
“If I offended anyone, it should be Tonto… we have both chosen to forgive each other,” he stated.
On public narratives surrounding Meurer, Churchill said her role in his life had been overstated.
“I do not agree with the narrative that Rosy ‘stood by me’… if she had not been there, someone else would have occupied that position,” he said.
The clarification comes after Meurer recently shared a video on social media, presenting herself without Churchill’s name or wedding ring, and describing her return as a “rebirth” focused on personal growth and creativity.
