Ganduje Rules Out Obi-Kwankwaso Victory in Kano Ahead of 2027

Abdullahi Ganduje has dismissed the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso presidential ticket, questioning both leaders’ governance records and predicting defeat in Kano.

Former APC National Chairman and ex-Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has expressed confidence that the proposed Peter Obi-Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential ticket on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) will fail to gain support in Kano State during the 2027 general election.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday, Ganduje described the ticket as politically unviable in the state.

“I don’t think Peter Obi and Kwankwaso’s ticket will succeed in Kano. It will not succeed. In fact, it is dead on arrival,” he declared.

The former governor questioned Obi’s achievements during his time as governor of Anambra State, saying his record does not justify leading the country.

“What did he do as a governor? What legacy did he leave as a governor?” Ganduje asked, adding that Obi had not held any subsequent public office that demonstrated his capacity to manage Nigeria.

Turning to Kwankwaso, Ganduje argued that the former Kano governor lacked the political record of other state leaders who secured two consecutive terms.

“Kwankwaso too, he was a governor of Kano State. He was not able to be a governor back-to-back,” he said.

According to Ganduje, Kwankwaso has also failed to leave behind a legacy capable of persuading Kano voters and Nigerians that he would serve successfully as vice president.
