Grammy 2027: Davido Enters Oriade, B4 B4 and Other Songs for Consideration

Afrobeats singer Davido has reportedly submitted his album Oriade and several songs for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, seeking recognition across multiple categories.

The development was announced by Grammy Guru through its X account, @thegrammyguru, formerly Twitter.

According to the report, Davido’s entries cover categories such as Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best African Music Performance and Best Music Video.

His sixth studio album, Oriade, was reportedly submitted in the Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Album Cover categories.

The singer’s collaboration B4 B4, featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, was entered for consideration in three categories: Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

Davido also reportedly submitted Nakupenda, featuring TxC, Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

In addition, Le Show, featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, was entered for Best African Music Performance.

Another track, I Know Who I Be, featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, was submitted in the Best Music Video category.

When Will the 2027 Grammy Nominees Be Announced?

The reported entries come as voting for the first round of the 2027 Grammy Awards is scheduled to take place between October 12 and October 22.

The Recording Academy is expected to announce nominees for the 69th Grammy Awards on November 16, with the ceremony scheduled for February 7, 2027.

Davido has previously been recognised by the Recording Academy, receiving nominations at the 66th Grammy Awards in 2024 for Timeless, Unavailable and Feel.

His latest reported submissions come amid continued efforts by Nigerian artists to secure international recognition and expand Afrobeats’ presence on the global music scene.
