The Manchester City boss insists his team can only focus on winning remaining games to stay in the title race.

Pep Guardiola has called on Manchester City to respond quickly in the Premier League title race by beating Brentford and increasing pressure on Arsenal.

City were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw by Everton on Monday, a result that left Arsenal five points clear at the top with three games remaining, compared to City’s four.

Guardiola said a victory at the Etihad on Saturday would temporarily close the gap before Arsenal face West Ham.

“Put pressure on Arsenal winning our games,” Guardiola said. “That’s all we have to do. All we can do.”

The City boss praised Jeremy Doku, who scored twice against Everton, including a last-gasp equaliser that rescued a point.

“I’m so glad,” he said. “Not just the goals, the assists, also contributing defensively. Jeremy has been amazing this season.”

City’s hopes of a seventh title in nine seasons remain alive but slim, though Guardiola highlighted success for Manchester City Women after their Women’s Super League triumph.

“Today is a reality in the world of football the impact of the women’s team on society and the girls,” he said.

He also suggested injury boosts could be on the way, with Rodri potentially returning and defenders Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol close to full fitness.
