Nigerian TikTok personality Nsikak Abigail, widely known as Mirabel, has made her return to social media months after a controversial false rape allegation led to her arrest, investigation and eventual rehabilitation.

Mirabel returned to TikTok on Saturday, sharing several posts in what appears to be her first public activity on the platform since the February controversy.

“I survived, so I’m awaiting your hate comments,” she wrote in one of the posts.

In another, she captioned a video: “Out of therapy but not healed.”

She later wrote: “Made peace with my mental health since rehab couldn’t help. Hi y’all.”

Another post carried the statement: “We all make mistakes, but not a bisexual stud.”

The posts suggest Mirabel is attempting to resume her public life, although she did not disclose when she left rehabilitation or provide details about her current condition.

False Rape Allegation

Mirabel became the subject of widespread public attention in February after posting emotional videos alleging that a man had broken into her home in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, and raped her.

She said the alleged incident occurred on February 15, 2026, after she had consumed alcohol because she was suffering from insomnia.

In her initial account, Mirabel said she opened her door believing the person outside was a neighbour. She alleged that the man pushed her, causing her to hit her head on a refrigerator and lose consciousness.

She further claimed that the man tied and gagged her before sexually assaulting her and leaving the residence.

Her allegations spread rapidly online, generating widespread public anger and drawing reactions from celebrities, activists and other Nigerians.

The story later came under scrutiny after inconsistencies emerged in her account.

During a conversation with activist VeryDarkMan, Mirabel admitted that she had fabricated the rape allegation. She reportedly also admitted creating the TikTok account allegedly linked to the supposed attacker and said she had been taking drugs and was not thinking clearly at the time.

From Police Custody to Rehabilitation

Following the admission, the Ogun State Police Command began an investigation, and Mirabel voluntarily reported at Ibafo Police Station.

She was subsequently transferred to the Ogijo police jurisdiction, where she underwent medical examination and received treatment.

Police initially indicated that she could be prosecuted over the false allegation. However, she was later handed over to the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development while investigations continued.

Authorities eventually opted for rehabilitation rather than prosecution after determining that she required psychosocial support.

In June, Ogun State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, said the investigation and Mirabel’s own admissions established that the allegation was “false and deliberately fabricated.”

He said the investigation found no offender to apprehend or prosecute and no public safety threat arising from the original allegation.

The state government therefore concluded that psychosocial rehabilitation would better serve the interests of justice.

Mirabel was subsequently placed under the care of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development for rehabilitation.

Her latest social media activity marks her return to the public space following the ordeal, though she has yet to reveal when exactly she left the rehabilitation facility or give further details about her recovery.
