Tems and Ayra Starr Shine in First Teaser for Hollywood Film ‘Children of Blood & Bone’

Tems and Ayra Starr feature in the first Children of Blood and Bone teaser, with Ayra Starr joining a star-studded Hollywood cast.

Nigerian music stars Tems and Ayra Starr have been featured in the first official teaser for the highly anticipated Hollywood fantasy film Children of Blood & Bone, with Ayra Starr making her acting debut on the big screen.

Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, provides the soundtrack for the teaser with her hit single Me & U, while Ayra Starr, born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, makes a brief appearance alongside the film’s star-studded cast.

Director Gina Prince-Bythewood shared the behind-the-scenes teaser on Monday via her Instagram page, @gpbmadeit, giving fans an early look at the production through footage of costume design, action sequences and scenes featuring members of the cast.

The accompanying caption reads: “So excited to share a peek behind the scenes of our incredible journey to Orisha. CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE TRAILER drops TOMORROW! And in theaters Jan 15!”

Produced by Paramount Pictures, the film is based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel and boasts an acclaimed cast including Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Damson Idris, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amandla Stenberg and Ayra Starr.

The story centres on Zélie Adebola, a young woman on a mission to restore magic to the West African-inspired kingdom of Orïsha after it was violently stripped from its people.

Children of Blood & Bone is adapted from Tomi Adeyemi’s 2018 bestselling novel, the opening title in the Legacy of Orïsha series.
