The Kabiru Turaki-aligned faction of the Peoples Democratic Party has challenged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to execute his threat of shutting down its office.

The exchange comes after Wike, during a recent media briefing, questioned the existence and legitimacy of the faction and warned that any building being used for its activities could be sealed.

In response, Ibrahim Abdullahi, a former PDP deputy national publicity secretary and aide to Kabiru Turaki, said the faction was operating openly from a known location.

“We have been operating from an office. He knows the location; he should come there and take over the office if he can,” Abdullahi stated.

“It is a temporary office, but we are meeting there and carrying out our functions.”

He also expressed concern over the growing internal crisis in the PDP, warning that continued tensions could worsen political instability in the country.

Abdullahi said the situation risked dragging Nigeria into a Hobbesian environment of chaos “where life is brutish, short, and nasty.”

Meanwhile, the faction’s spokesperson, Ini Ememobong, rejected Wike’s remarks about banks allegedly opening accounts for the group.

“His delusional boast of dealing with banks that will open accounts for us is delusional, as he is already aware that we are operating accounts of the party, which is why his group of friends are receiving money through private accounts,” Ememobong said.
