We may not know why . . .

But you know why . . .

And God knows your heart.

Dress according to who you want us to think you are or who you really are.

Dressing matters

That’s why professionals have a dress code—soldiers, doctors, lawyers, pilots, engineers, etc.

Prostitutes have their own dress code also. And they have reasons for it.

Don’t envy them

But if you envy them, stop envying them. Just be bold enough to join them. And make sure you stay on the street and not in civilized spaces where you distract people.

If you don’t want to join them, please stop trying to steal their advantages by dressing like them.

Soldiers don’t like civilians dressing up like them.

In Lagos, they beat up any civilian who dresses up like a soldier or even wears a soldier’s cap.

I’m not supporting such jungle justice; but there is a reason for it

It is because being a soldier has advantages and disadvantages

And civilians who dress like soldiers want to enjoy the advantages but avoid the disadvantages. That’s dishonest.

If you don’t believe you are a prostitute but choose to dress up like a prostitute, whether you admit it or not, the reason is because you want the advantages of prostitutes but don’t want the shame and other disadvantages associated with the profession

You are dishonest.

Choose your profession

And be a proud professional.

If you are a prostitute at heart, dress yourself up the way you know your colleagues dress so that those who want to avoid you will avoid you and those who want to patronize you will patronize you. It’s a free world. Be bold.

If your profession is Ms Decent Lady, dress like a decent lady. And know that there is a crowd out there that values decent ladies: this crowd will value you. Just stay on your lane. Accept the advantages and disadvantages of being a decent lady and go the other way if that’s what you really want.

You can’t have it both ways.

And don’t be deceived by other women, no matter their status.

If your pastor’s wife dresses like a prostitute, just know that she is a prostitute at heart: she desires the advantages of being a prostitute.

Don’t copy her.

She is dishonest. She is like a civilian wearing a soldier’s cap. She wants something but does not want to pay the full price. She wants the honour that comes with being a pastor’s wife and also wants the unfair advantage of being gazed at beyond her natural beauty and feminine attributes. Which is why she cooperates with her standing mirror to dress the way she does. Like a prostitute—or 75% so.

Be yourself.

Dress up in the exact way you see yourself—either decent or indecent, remembering that indecent is the signature of prostitutes.

In conclusion, never forget that a woman’s dressing is more consequential than a man’s because of the eyes of men. Through no fault of theirs, men are naturally wired to feel sexual arousal by the simple trigger of seeing a woman’s body. When that body is deliberately exposed or accentuated by tight or revealing clothing, or gyration while walking, or whatever, it increases the tension and the reasons are both logic and biology.

Biology: His natural drive is triggered because he is biologically wired to react to a woman’s appearance.

Logic: A man’s logical mind also adds to the pressure because it tells him here is a woman that is available if I can press the right button. It may be money or some favour but the woman who deliberately exposes her body or accentuates her bodily femininity tells a man (whether she realizes it or understands it or admits it or not) that she is available. Under certain conditions. Maybe cash or some other favour. So stop adding to the sexual tension of men by reckless dressing all because you have been groomed to do so through television programmes, videos, and the media, which deliberately promotes celebrities dressed in ways to poison the culture.

In case you did not know, Jesus Christ said anyone who causes any of His children to go astray will be destroyed. You did not know that? Now you do. This means you are responsible for standing up before your mirror and ensuring that, as you go out, any man that decides to lust after you does not do so with your active support. But if you take your time to orchestrate that very outcome (that is, cause them to lust after you) just know that Someone up there is watching you, His angels are recording you, and He is planning something that will be delivered to you in full measure at the end of your days—except you repent and change course.

Many women have already destroyed many men just by wearing certain clothes or accessories that made them feel powerful as they stepped out of the house, hardly estimating the eternal consequences of their little vanity. Especially for women who fear God and who would not want to do the wrong thing, please realize that the more naturally endowed you are with regard to feminine attributes, the more responsible you are to ensure that no man uses your appearance as an excuse to fall. Because if he actually falls because of you (through your deliberate calculation to titillate men) you will be destroyed by God. And no amount of religious activity or church attendance will deliver you from this. I didn’t write the Bible and you better know that there is a categorical warning about this matter from Jesus Christ Himself. That’s what Matthew 18:6 is about, just in case your pastor never told you. And again, just in case you did not know how high a standard Jesus Christ set for men’s purity, I will tell you.

In Matthew Chapter 5, He essentially said a man who wants to be pure cannot look at a woman to lust after her. Later He said if your right eye causes you to offend, pluck it out because it is better to get into the kingdom of God partly blind than to be cast into hell with both eyes intact. The summary of this is that, just by looking and lusting after a woman, a man on his way to eternal life can become guilty, and his heaven-ward journey can become impeded. But some women dress up (or is it dress down) for the specific purpose of getting men to look and lust after them. I just stated that a man can go to hell for looking and lusting after a woman. Why would you want to be responsible for such a horrible thing? Are you now cooperating with the kingdom of Satan to harm children of God? Do you know how sexually tantalizing it is for a man to see a woman dressed suggestively?

If a man lusts after you through no fault of yours, that’s his problem. It’s clear that some women will pose a challenge no matter how consecutively they are dressed. But if you are responsible for a man’s lust because of the way you choose to dress or adorn yourself, woe unto you. Society and even your church members may applaud and celebrate your outlandish dressing and long, sharp, fake nails, your fake hair, fake lips, and fake eye lashes, but the One Who created men will judge you if you cause any one of them who belong to Him to trip and fall. Beware!

So choose your style and be honest with yourself. You have the right to dress like a prostitute; you also have the right to dress decently. Choose one. It is the mixup that causes problems. Be as honest as career prostitutes who live in shame but enjoy some other advantages. Don’t try to live honorably while trying to steal the advantages that belong to them.

The sad part of this morbid trend is that when you see a lady on the street dressed like a prostitute (especially in a city environment) odds are that she is a Christian or at least the daughter of Christian parents.

Pray tell: what do Muslim parents do to get majority of their daughters to dress decently and even too decently in some cases?

For some women, sports is the perfect excuse for doing what they have always wanted to do all along—expose their bodies or accentuate their body parts. In the name of going to the gym or taking a health walk, they wear silky and revealing and very tight sports clothes. Some no longer bother with underwear these days because they want to appear as naked as possible but don’t know how to pull that off safely without consequences. So they step out without their bra and even their underwear; or they wear underwear specifically designed to be useless in terms of covering a woman’s nakedness. I have seen wonders in some shopping malls and other public spaces.

There is no law in Nigeria against these types of borderline whorish dressing but God is watching you.

For those who feel they want to do the right thing, please understand that except you repent and become modest in the way you dress, the oven is getting heated up everyday you deliberately dress up to trip men. I’m referring to the oven that will incinerate you. The Bible calls it hellfire. You don’t want to end up there. The pleasure of watching men ogle at you as you pass by is not worth it. Really, it is not. So let go of that vanity and be a positive influence on the younger generation who are now in dire need of role models. Please be that role model. God will bless you and you will lose nothing. And the few men around who still appreciate decency will honour you and you will not be ashamed at the end of your life. Be strong.

Kudos to all the decent women and girls out there who refuse to join the bandwagon. You have no idea how much your courage in dressing properly helps in preventing total anarchy in society
