President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that opposition leaders, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Nasir el-Rufai, cannot intimidate him as political alignments ahead of 2027 begin to take shape.

The President made the remarks while addressing members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a group established to promote his administration’s reforms across the country.

Despite what he described as a political “gang-up,” Tinubu insisted he remains resolute. “They want to scare me off, it is a lie. I’ve been through this path before… I’ll do the same thing.”

He called on opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to uphold democratic values and respect the judiciary. “We cannot submit to disobedience of a lawful order of the court. We must embrace the judiciary, whether it favours us or not.”

Emphasising national unity, he said: “There’s no other way… than to build one nation, one common vision for progress and prosperity of our people.”

Tinubu also encouraged his supporters to inspire confidence among Nigerians. “You must give them that hope… to build a Nigeria,” he said, assuring them he would remain committed. “I won’t run away from you.”

Reflecting on economic challenges, he linked current conditions to inherited realities under former President Muhammadu Buhari. “If something is wrong… correct it, move on,” he said.

In a subtle critique of Atiku Abubakar, Tinubu questioned the outcomes of past privatisation policies. “Is it working today? No,” he said, referencing the steel sector and Ajaokuta.

Earlier, Hope Uzodimma explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors were created to translate government policies into clear messages for grassroots engagement.

Similarly, Aminu Bello Masari said reform-oriented leadership often meets resistance but maintained that the Tinubu administration continues to record notable achievements.

Tinubu concluded with a message of determination: “All I can promise is that I won’t give up.”
